Inspired by the symbolism of amethyst; clarity, balance, and transformation, our approach centers on thoughtful beginnings and refined execution. Each menu, moment, and detail is designed to feel purposeful, calm, and deeply considered.

Origin is where everything begins.
For us, it is the starting point of every experience; the season, the ingredients, the setting, and the people gathered at the table.

Based in Northern California, Amethyst Origin works closely with local purveyors, allowing each menu to reflect both place and moment.

Meet the Owner/Chef

Amethyst Origin was founded by May Leveille, a chef whose approach is shaped by years of quiet observation and disciplined craft. Beginning her career in hospitality as a server back in 2012, May developed an understanding of pacing, structure, and the mechanics of service.

An education in how experiences function, rather than how they are performed.

Since 2015, May has worked professionally as a chef across wineries, restaurants, Michelin-starred kitchens, catering companies, and private culinary roles within the tech industry. This range of environments refined a methodical, detail-driven approach to both savory and pastry work, where balance and execution take precedence over spectacle.

May’s approach is rooted in seasonality, restraint, and clarity.
